A Heart to Love

LAST NIGHT

She smiled at me... I smiled back
our conversation started out slowly,
cautiously... but as it built, I knew!
Her eyes looked full into mine
The connection was... breathtaking
Warning bells went off in my head
as warm affection rose in my chest
Distance must be kept!
She was but a fleeting acquaintance
I was meeting her on Friday... must say goodbye on Sun
I met her gaze with steady one in return
We still didn't know eachother
but the conncetion was complete
Tears of memories sparked gathered at the back of my eyes
Through the rest of the evening we
shared knowing glances, fond laughter
and grasped eachother's hands in prayer
The night came to a close
I fought with my feelings... but it was for naught
When I looked at her - I loved her
As we exchanged e-mail my heart hurt
I wanted to know, love, and encourage her
But, wouldn't it be better to forget???
Long distance is hard... and painful
"Bye Amy! See you Sunday!"
She mad a movement as if to embrace me
but hesitated... trying to find where I was at
I wanted to weep. Everything in me...
longed to wrap my arms around her...
to communicate the love I have for her...
... so unexplainable... this love...
but I hadn't shown that kind of affection
to anyone for almost 2 months now...
- fear won over -
"Bye Melissa... Sunday for sure!"
and I turned away... wishing I hadn't
Now tomorrow I must say goodbye...

Sometimes I wish my heart were incapable of love...

Colours

They swirl around me in ever brightening circles, warming my existence and illuminating my path. I revel in their companionship and rejoice at the gift they are to me. These colours that sorround me are individual as they are beautiful. Each with its own unique capabilities and characteristics. The one thing that ties them all together is their origination. They are all extensions of light. When a colour reaches down to brush my brow, I am looking at a touch from His hand. Colour is nothing without light... indeed... colour IS light.

Orange: As fun and bright as her hue promises, this colour has always been a joy to me. Her passion infuses me with life and her differences enhance my experience. She cares with the deepness of an ocean and the music of the light is ever present in her movement. I think of her when I look at the stars

Red: She has chosen a faithful love that pushes through anything and through the process has endeared herself to me as a sister... as true as the one I was born with. My heart has bled along side of hers and her brilliance often points me towards the light itself. At night the moon reminds me of her laughter.

Pink: The one who the Lord has in his hands. This colour brings me laughter. She touches my soul with her beautiful love and search for the light. Her heart of worship and desire for true fellowship brings me hope. Her faithful love for me rings true to her shade. For some reason... pretzles come to mind.

Yellow: The soft touch of this colour sometimes brings tears to my eyes. She has a heart of gold and a personality of fire. Refusing to leave my side she opened my heart to honesty and freed me to be myself. A gift whispered into my ear the moment I first embraced this gentle hue. I ponder her bueaty when I wear my hat.

Blue: Like a shimmering lake, this colour sparkles with laughter. He glides with genuiness and a love for life. Not afraid to expose his glistening tears...he encourages me to feel... and miss, and the light is clearly seen as he sweeps to embrace me. He has shown me the love of a brother, and so he has become. I think of sitting on walls when this colour invades my thoughts.

Green: This colour is gentle as he is solid. He swirls with vitality and life and he breathes of encouraging words. He has invigirated me with many a caring prayer and his ability to see behind my walls. Leadership is strong upon him and his heart for those belonging to the light. His brightness comes to mind over a cup of coffee.

White: This colour brings worship and peace. A sweet dear presence that reflects the nature of her source so sincerly that the brightest of smiles pales in comparison. Always an open ear and a soft answer, she graces my dearest of thoughts when I consider my... clean shower?

Purple: Like the royalty that this colour rpresents.. so her poise and her encouraging words. She brings wise council and prayers with her to my sometimes faint of heart and never ceases to believe in me. I remember her when I think of my favourit colour.

Life without colour would be dull... I would survive, but I wouldn't know what I was missing! To enjoy colour is to enjoy light. I will never give in to fear the contact of colours in my life. The light shows himself to me through their love, their touch, their prayers, and their lives. They lift up my head when it is too weary to go on... and they yank me out of the ditch when I choose not to go on.

I love you guys

So what if you catch me? Where would we land?...
